In our second Stylist Spotlight, we talked with Riley Craig, @riley.bowandarrowsalon, to talk about her career and her business.
Hey Riley! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I own Bow and Arrow Salon in Springfield Illinois. I have been doing hair for almost 7 years now, and graduated from Paul Mitchell the school Chicago. I have been married a year next month, with an almost 2 year old baby boy, Asher.
Tell us about your career as a hair stylist.
My career as a stylist has been a ride! I absolutely LOVE where I’m at in my career now. Mainly all extension clients, I work 2 days a week behind the chair so I can focus more on my business and it’s the best thing ever. I used to work 6 days behind the chair 12 hour shifts and was always exhausted, never happy, and made less. Almost two years ago, my life changed by doing handtied extensions. I absolutely love what I do!
Can you tell us why you do hand-tied extensions – and why do you use our hair?
I do handtied because that’s what I truly believe in! I use Harper Ellis hair because I not only LOVE the way that the company treats you, but I love the results of the hair. The company truly helps you, and is there for you when most other companies haven’t been there for me as a stylist before. I have built an amazing friendship with the owner of Harper Ellis over the years and she will forever have my business because of her giving heart!
