In this spotlight, we chat with Florida-based hand-tied hair extension artist, Hayley, about her career in styling as well as her experience with Harper Ellis.
Hi Hayley! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Hey babes! My name is Hayley Sipe, and if you’re reading this, we should be friends! Here is a little bit about me — I am a wife and a mother of two beautiful babies and two fur babies. In my free time, I like to drink iced coffee while watching YouTube or scroll endlessly on TikTok.
I was born and raised in Oklahoma, and about nine months ago, my husband’s career in the US Air Force moved us to the Sunshine State of Florida. As a new Floridian, my favorite sport is tanning.
We would love to know what brought you to where you are now! What can you tell us about your career as a hairstylist?
Starting of my hair career in Oklahoma was amazing. I learned so much while working alongside my very best friends. I was able to gain my confidence behind the chair knowing I was always supported in the industry and so appreciated by my clients.
Moving to a new state and starting all over again has been so challenging but SO incredibly rewarding. It has taught me to lean on social media marketing to reach new clients and to constantly challenge myself behind the chair to become the strongest stylist I can be.
Can you tell us why you choose to use hand-tied extensions and why you use Harper Ellis hair?
I have been certified in the Habit Extension Method for almost two years now, and I love working with hand-tied hair extensions. It seemed that while I was so ready and eager to book all the installations, most extension companies were out of stock. We all know how scary it can be when the demand is there, but we are unable to resource the high quality hair we need.
