February Stylist Spotlight: Natalie Blaney

Written by Mary Cole

This month, we’re shining the spotlight on Natalie Blaney(IG: @natalieblaney)—a force in the hair industry and the heart behind The Fix Salon in Little Rock, Arkansas (IG: @thefix_salon). Natalie’s journey as a stylist and salon owner is nothing short of inspiring. From overcoming challenges to transforming lives (literally!), she’s a testament to what’s possible when talent, drive, and a little Harper Ellis magic come together. 🖤✨

Why Harper Ellis?

When Natalie found Harper Ellis, she was at a crossroads. “I had left my second coaching program and felt like I had gained nothing but confusion and distrust from my team. I had been following HEHC for years and saw Terra’s growth and success. I thought, ‘Why hasn’t this happened for me?’”

She admits she was skeptical about extensions at first, but once she took the leap, there was no turning back. “I said yes to HEHC because I was ready to change my perspective—and they didn’t disappoint. They’ve helped me grow as a leader and think bigger than I ever thought possible.”

The Challenges Behind the Chair (and Beyond)

Before joining Harper Ellis, Natalie faced the same struggles so many of us know too well—generating consistent revenue, hitting her goals, and having someone hold her accountable. As a salon owner, the hurdles stacked even higher.

“I didn’t have a clear grasp on my numbers—what the salon was making or spending—and didn’t have a plan to grow or bring on new employees. I wasn’t paying myself and felt lost when it came to motivating my team,” Natalie shares.

But if there’s one thing we know about Natalie, it’s that she doesn’t back down from a challenge.

A Transformation That Changed Everything

Of all the transformations she’s worked on over her 22-year career, there’s one that will always stay close to Natalie’s heart.

One of her clients, a cancer survivor, had been through unimaginable trials—not just in her health but also in her confidence. “She told me the only thing holding her back in recovery was the way her hair looked. When I placed that topper on her head, she and her daughter broke down in tears before I even started the install. That moment changed how I view my work—it’s so much more than hair.” 🥹

After seeing the difference it made in her client’s spirit and recovery, Natalie realized the true power of what we do as stylists.

Staying Inspired & Dreaming Big

Natalie credits her motivation to a mix of podcasts (shoutout to Leila Hormozi and Mel Robbins 💫), her amazing team, and the entire HEHC family. “I follow so many stylists and salons who keep me dreaming big. My team keeps me motivated—they inspire me daily.”

Her biggest industry inspiration? Jorge Serrano. Natalie worked with Jorge from 2008 to 2010 at The Chris McMillan Salon in Beverly Hills. “Jorge taught me how to create fabulous hair, but more importantly, he taught me to speak up, ask questions, and dream big.”

Natalie’s Advice to Stylists

“Take the class. Get the certification. Don’t let money or time hold you back. Even if you don’t use the skill daily, the knowledge will elevate you. And—save your money!”

What She Loves Most About HEHC

The community. “The support I get from HEHC is unmatched—whether it’s salon operations, extension questions, or just cheering me on. I have HEHC friends all over the country who encourage and inspire me every day. It’s an amazing feeling to be part of something so big.”

Natalie, we’re so proud of you and your journey. Your passion, drive, and commitment to your clients and team inspire us all. Thank you for being such a vital part of the Harper Ellis family! 🖤
